Empire Riverside Stay is built inside a building with real history — constructed in 1911 in the heart of downtown Bridgewater, and fully renovated in 2024 without losing the character that made it worth saving in the first place.
That balance is deliberate. We didn’t want a generic apartment block, and we didn’t want a museum piece either. What you get is a building with genuine heritage bones — solid construction, tall windows, a sense of permanence you don’t find in a new build — combined with everything a modern stay actually needs.
Every suite is fully self-contained: a private kitchen stocked well enough to actually cook in, not just reheat in; a dedicated workspace for the guests who need to log on during their stay; and reliable high-speed Wi-Fi throughout. Self check-in via smart lock means you can arrive at midnight after a long drive, or catch an early flight out, without coordinating around anyone else’s schedule.
Comfortable living areas mean you’re not confined to a bed and a desk — there’s room to actually spread out, whether you’re here for three nights or three months. And because we’re owner-operated by Liviu and Gabriella rather than managed from a call centre somewhere else, the details tend to get noticed and fixed quickly.

Being in the heart of downtown Bridgewater, on the LaHave River, means you’re walking distance from Main Street’s shops and cafés, minutes from South Shore Regional Hospital and major employers, and a short drive from Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, and the South Shore’s beaches.
